The ball has dropped, the confetti has been swept up and Pantone has announced 2014’s Color of the Year, “Radiant Orchid.” This hue is described by Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, as eye-catching and certain to “spark the imagination.”
Pantone is not the only company to note purple as being trendy in 2014. Sherwin-Williams has recognized “Exclusive Plum” as its color of 2014. Why is purple such a hit? Well, the color is believed to inspire peace of mind and even symbolize royalty, which are noble qualities of a color for the interior of a home.
Whether it covers the walls in a bedroom or acts as an accent color for the living room, Radiant Orchid is sure to make any room pop. Realtor.com suggests that the “versatile” hue is perfect for “complimenting olive and deep greens as well as turquoises, teals and even yellows.” Pantone believes that its color of 2014 is “a unifying element for diverse spaces.”
Realtor.com shared the news of Pantone’s decision back in December. So, now that 2014 is finally here, you can fully embrace opportunities to make this color live up to its title. As a PA Realtor, it’s important to help your clients envision the full potential of a home. By suggesting a popular color for a bare or drab room, your clients will be enticed to visualize living in the space.
