Keystone Custom Homes: Advantages
Key Advantages
20 Year Limited Warranty-
A 20-year warranty against structural defects in material or workmanship which significantly affect the load bearing portions of your home.
Pre-Construction Meeting-
Homebuyers meet with
Keystone’s Customer Relations Manager (CRM) prior to start of building
their new home.
Customer Orientation-
Your Customer Relations Manager will conduct an orientation to familiarize you with the home’s features.
Stage 1-
You will meet with your CRM when framing and mechanical rough-ins are complete as a quality control measure.
Foundation Drainage System-
Drain pipe/system installed to allow any water along the foundation to flow to the sump hole or a daylight drain. This reduces the possibility of water infiltration into your basement.
Chinking the Studs-
Recesses the tub or shower into the studs
allowing the wallboard to extend straight down from the stud.
Corner Framing/ Nailing Stud Blocks-
Blocks are placed in corners to provide more area for nailing/ screwing wallboard thus reducing cracks in finished walls.
Jack Studs-
Provide more support for headers resulting in squarely installed and better operational doors.
The “H” Clip-
Used to reinforce OSB roof sheathing between the trusses to eliminate waves in the finished roof.
2” by 6” Exterior Walls-
The results are stronger, quieter and better insulated homes.
Wrap Runner & Gable Bracing-
Ties the trusses together so they work as a family.
Wood Cross-Bracing-
Wood is used instead of metal for strength and to reduce the possibility of noisy floors.
Glued and Screwed Walls-
Drywall is glued and screwed to reduce possibility of nail pops. Ceiling fasteners are kept at least 12” away from intersecting walls preventing cracks and keeping truss lift to a minimum. Flextape is also used in angles of more than 90 degrees holding the angle better than mesh or paper tape.
Cased Openings-
No wrap around drywall here. Keystone uses Colonial trim on openings between rooms.
Colonial Trim-
Standard in a Keystone home.
3 Door Hinges-
Three, rather than two door hinges, reduce warping possibility of doors and allow better operation and closing.
Foam Insulation-
Foam is installed around all openings such as pipes and wires. It hardens and prevents air infiltration resulting in lower utility costs.
Level Curing Temperature-
Installed furnace, (verses temporary heat source), allows a steady 68 degree temperature which reduces bulging and shrinking in the drywall joints to reduce cracks in corners.
25 Year Roof-
Our shingles carry a 25 year Warranty.
